• In medieval times princesses were often forced to marry the sons of other rulers, in order to have peace between two groups or two countries.
• A princess of long ago would have been taught to do the bidding of their parents and never argue.
• Princesses in medieval times had long hair, which was the style for noblewomen of that time. They often kept it braided to keep it neat.
• The clothes royal princesses wore were much nicer than those the common women wore. A princess used storage chests filled with spices to keep her clothes in so they would stay fresh.
• Some princesses wore a circlet or a band around their heads. This was a sign of their royalty.
• A princess had beautiful gowns or long dresses. Many of these had embroidered crests that represented the royal lineage of their families.
• After a princess became a royal married lady, and was responsible for her home or castle, they wore a belt around their waist on which they kept the keys to the supply closets and cupboards.
• Royal ladies were taught sewing or embroidery, and were very skilled. They spent much time doing cloth crafts.
